Sending Blessings Upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Salawat refers to asking Allah to bestow blessings, honour and peace upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is an expression of love, respect, gratitude and obedience to Allah.
Allah commands believers to send blessings and peace upon the Prophet ﷺ in Qur’an 33:56 . This Qur’anic command forms the foundation of the Muslim practice of Salawat.
